Mafia Mukhtar Ansari has got a big relief from the High Court. The High Court has granted bail to Mukhtar Ansari in the Gangster Act. Mafia Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda jail, was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the Special Court of Ghazipur on April 29 under MP/MLA Gangster Act. Mukhtar Ansari has filed an appeal in the High Court against this decision. After hearing the bail application presented here, the court had reserved its decision. While delivering the verdict on Monday, High Court Justice Rajveer Singh granted bail to Mukhtar Ansari. However, no stay has been imposed on Mukhtar’s punishment. However, even after bail, there is doubt over Mukhtar Ansari coming out of jail. More than 50 cases are registered against Mukhtar. He has also been convicted in three cases.

Mukhtar Ansari had filed an appeal in the High Court against the 10-year imprisonment given by the Special Court MP/MLA of Ghazipur in the Gangster Act case. On April 29, the Special Court had convicted Mukhtar Ansari in the gangster case and sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment. During the hearing on the bail application, Mukhtar Ansari’s lawyer Upendra Upadhyay told the court that Mukhtar Ansari has been in jail for 12 years and four months.

He said that Mukhtar Ansari had suffered more during the trial than the punishment awarded to him. The court had also sought a report from the Banda Jail Superintendent in this matter. It is noteworthy that Mukhtar Ansari’s brother Afzal Ansari has already got bail in the same case. Allahabad High Court had reserved the decision on September 20 after hearing Mukhtar Ansari’s lawyer Upendra Upadhyay and Additional Advocate General Manish Goyal on behalf of the government.
