He said that the population of this state is around eight crores and the High Court is seven hundred and fifty kilometers away from Meerut, in such a situation Western UP should become a separate state. However, this statement of Sanjeev Baliyan has been opposed by BJP leader Sangeet Som. He said that if this happens, Hindus will become a minority in this state, the way the population of one section is increasing will change the democracy of the West.

There has already been a demand for setting up a High Court in Meerut. Sambhal MP Shafiqur Rahman Burke personally supported the demand of the Union Minister. He said that UP is a big state.
