Alcohol lovers are proud in Uttarakhand, now they will be able to open bars at home after taking license

Alcohol drinkers have become lucky in Uttarakhand. In the new excise policy 2023- 24, the state government has given permission to open bars at home for personal use of alcohol lovers. For this, a license will have to be obtained. Under this scheme.  A person from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, had applied online and has been given permission to open a bar at home.

License will be issued for this provision.  In this regard, District Excise Officer Rajeev Singh Chauhan said that after completing the process as per excise policy, the first such license has been issued in Dehradun for personal use.

Licensee will be permitted to make personal use only in accordance with the terms of this Policy.  Not only this, no member of the household below 21 years of age will go to the place where the bar will be built.  The bar will be closed on public holidays.

This much fee will have to be paid

An affidavit has also been taken from the licensee to fulfill these conditions.  For such a bar license, a fee of Rs 12,000 will have to be paid every year and permission has been given to keep a certain quantity of Indian made liquor 9 liters and foreign liquor (imported) 18 litres, wine 9 liters and beer 15.6 litres.

Regarding this new excise policy, an official said that now people will be free to keep more liquor of their choice at home.  However, it was also made clear to them that people will have the freedom to keep only the civil liquor sold in the market in their personal bars.

No permission to keep liquor purchased from another state

The officer has made it clear that no person can keep canteen or liquor purchased from outside the state in his private bar.  The process to apply online for individual bar license has been laid down and the DM of the district will have the authority to approve it.
