Nipah virus alert issued now in Uttarakhand, people will be quarantined if symptoms appear

After the death of six people due to Nipah virus in Kerala, now an alert has been issued in Uttarakhand. Earlier, an alert was issued for Udham Singh Nagar district. While on one hand the state is suffering from dengue, on the other hand the alert of Nipah virus has troubled the people.

The health department has become alert due to the threat of Nipah virus amidst the sting of dengue. The Health Department has issued an alert in the hospitals of the state regarding this. Let us tell you that six people have died due to Nipah virus in Kerala. In view of this, caution is being taken in other states of the country.

People will be quarantined if symptoms appear
After Covid-19, Nipah virus has knocked in the country. Like Covid, Nipah virus also spreads from infected person to other person. Due to which patients will be quarantined if symptoms appear. If symptoms of Nipah virus are seen, samples will be sent to Rishikesh AIIMS for testing.

Nipah virus has come to India six times since 2001
Nipah virus has already arrived in India before now. Nipah virus has occurred six times since 2001. Whereas in Kerala this has come for the fourth time after 2018. In 2001, when Nipah virus spread in Siliguri, West Bengal, 45 people died.

After this, in the year 2007, Nipah virus spread in Nadia district of West Bengal in which five people were infected and all of them died. In the year 2018, Nipah virus knocked again in Kerala. In which 18 people were infected. Out of which 17 people died. After this, Nipah virus infection spread again in Kerala in the year 2019 and 2021 in which two people died.

What is Nipah virus?
Nipah virus is a zoonotic virus. Which spreads from animals to humans. Along with this, this virus spreads from infected humans to other people. The first case of this virus was reported in Sungai Nipah village in Malaysia in 1999. It was named Nipah virus because it was found in Malaysia. According to experts, Nipah virus spreads to humans through bats named Flying Fox.

Nipah virus symptoms and treatment
Nipah virus matches the symptoms of Covid to some extent. When infected with this, symptoms like fever, headache, cough, sore throat, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, pneumonia and swelling in the brain etc. are seen. Its treatment is based on the symptoms of the patient.

First of all, the patient is quarantined separately from other people for 21 days. Anyone is prohibited from coming in contact with the infected. Along with this, wearing mask and social distancing is most important in this.
