Uttarakhand: Bus falls into ditch in Nainital, seven dead, many injured
A bus fell into a deep gorge in an accident that took place late Sunday night in Kaladhungi in Nainital district. Seven people have died in this accident. The dead included a child. 28 people have been rescued.
Accident happened while returning
According to the information received, the staff of New Manav International School had come to visit Nainital in a school bus from Hisar, Haryana. This bus was returning back to Hisar on Sunday. Meanwhile, Kaladhungi went out of control near Mangoli on Nainital road and fell into a deep ditch. A total of 33 people were traveling in the bus. Seven people died in the accident. This also includes a woman and a child. 26 people were rescued in the night.
Screams on the spot
There was an outcry after the accident. Local people informed the police. Police and SDRF reached the spot and started rescue operations. Senior police officers who reached the spot took charge. As soon as the information was received, SSP Nainital, SP City Haldwani, local police station, NDRF, SDRF, fire unit and local public reached the spot and conducted the rescue operation till late night.
Injured admitted to hospital
The rescued injured were brought to Community Health Center Kaladhungi. Many people are seriously injured. Seriously injured people were referred to STH Haldwani.
