Bihar: Proved her living husband to be dead! Vicious woman took 15 lakhs from LIC on neighbor’s death, police were stunned when investigation was done

A person can do anything in the greed for money. He puts everything at stake in his relations but does not lose his attachment to money. One such case has come to light in Nalanda, Bihar, where after proving her husband dead, the wife withdrew Rs 15 lakh with the help of LIC agent. In this case, LIC registered a case in Laheri police station in the year 2021 against Saidi Devi, wife of Sunil Kumar, resident of Sohsarai police station area, and its LIC agent.

The woman was living in a rented house after eloping
After the case was registered, investigation revealed that the woman’s husband Sunil Kumar was alive. The police had earlier arrested the agent in this case. But as soon as the woman came to know about this, she ran away. Meanwhile, Laheri police station received secret information that the woman was living in a rented house in Gaya, after which Laheri police station arrested the woman from Gaya and brought her to the police station.

Amount withdrawn on the basis of death certificate
Laheri police station incharge Deepak Kumar said that Sunil Kumar, a resident of Asha Nagar locality, had taken insurance of Rs 15 lakh from LIC. After Bima, another Sunil Kumar living in the same neighborhood died. Taking advantage of his death, Sunil’s wife and LIC agent withdrew Rs 15 lakh from LIC on the basis of the second Sunil’s death certificate. As soon as the wife of deceased Sunil Kumar came to know about this, she went to the LIC office and lodged an objection. During investigation, Saidi Devi’s husband Sunil Kumar was found alive, after which the accused woman absconded. The police had already arrested the LIC agent and sent him to jail. Today Saidi Devi has also been arrested.
