Uttarakhand: License of Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport may be cancelled, red signal received
The airport located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand is providing air services to major cities of the country.
Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport License may be canceled
On one hand, this airport is being developed as an international airport, while on the other hand, the airport administration is in tension due to the haphazard construction work happening near the airport. If this continues, the license of Dehradun Airport may also be in danger. After sending a letter to the District Magistrate in this regard, the airport administration has written a letter to the Housing Secretary for action. We also tell you what the whole matter is. In fact, to ensure the movement of planes at Jolly Grant’s Dehradun Airport, an area of about 20 kilometers has been divided into Red, Orange and Yellow zones. Seven kilometers of the airport is Red Zone, then Orange and then the third part is Yellow Zone.
The red zone is the most sensitive for landing of all types of aircraft and helicopters. The Airport Authority has set different heights for any kind of construction work in the three zones. Before carrying out construction work here, it is mandatory to obtain no objection certificate from the airport. Also the map has to be passed from MDDA. Application for No Objection Certificate can be made online at www.aai.airo.com. Despite strict rules, no objection certificate is not being obtained from the airport for construction work. The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) monitors the airport for the safety of air passengers. In which the standards of high construction works up to the prescribed distance from near the airport are also seen. If such illegal construction continues here, the airport’s license may be canceled. Airport Director Prabhakar Mishra said that construction work is being carried out indiscriminately without the NOC of the airport. DGCA can also cancel the license of the airport if the standards are not met.
