A sensational case has come to light from Agra. Here the police has exposed the ‘beggar gang’ that steals children. This gang used to make children aged between 1 to 3 years its victims. When the children grew up, they would sell them. They used to make children beg. This gang was exposed when GRP, after 10 months of hard work, rescued a 2-year-old girl who was stolen from Mathura Railway Junction. Police said five people, including two women, have been arrested in the case. All of them are part of the interstate beggar gang.
Actually, on January 7, 2023, the girl was sleeping with her mother near gate number of Mathura railway station. At that very moment the gang had stolen it. The girl’s mother works as a garbage collector. When the mother woke up, she saw that the child was not with her. After this he lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against unknown accused under IPC sections 363 (kidnapping) and 363A (kidnapping or maiming a minor for begging).
Even after scanning more than 300 CCTV cameras at the police station and surrounding areas, no footage of the incident was found. Senior sub-inspector Kulveer Singh said the officials had only a passport size photograph of the girl. This picture was sent to 6 states. The police got success during checking on Wednesday. The police saw a group of men and women quickly deboarding the train and quickly walking out. After this the police became suspicious of him. After this the GRP detained the group. They could not give accurate information about the child. During interrogation, he confessed that the girl was the same girl who was kidnapped 10 months ago. The mother had told the police about the marks on the girl’s body. On the basis of which he was identified.
Used to target children aged one to three years
DSP Vijay Kumar said, “The girl is safe and has been reunited with her mother. The arrested persons revealed that they had earlier kidnapped six children. “They targeted children aged between 1 and 3 years.”
