Supreme Court suggested names of 13 lawyers as High Court judges, appointed 11 judicial officers as judges

On Wednesday, 11 judicial officers and six lawyers were appointed as judges in eight High Courts including Delhi. At the same time, four lawyers have been appointed as additional judges of Andhra Pradesh High Court, while three judicial officers have been promoted as additional judges in the Bombay High Court.

Three judicial officers have been appointed as additional judges in the Kerala High Court. One lawyer each has been appointed as additional judge in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh High Court. One judicial officer has been appointed judge in the Gujarat High Court, while another has been appointed to the Tripura High Court. At the same time, another judicial officer has been made an additional judge in the Tripura High Court. Information about these new appointments has been given by Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal in his ex-post.

Collegium recommended names of 13 lawyers for HC

The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has recommended the names of 13 lawyers as judges of various high courts. The collegium has recommended the names of lawyers N Unni Krishnan Nair and Kaushik Goswami as judges of the Gauhati High Court. The names of lawyers Siddharth Sah and Alok Mahra have been recommended for appointment as judges of the Uttarakhand High Court.

The names of lawyers Harmeet Singh Grewal, Deepinder Singh Nalwa, Sumeet Goyal, Sudipti Sharma and Kirti Singh have been recommended for appointment as judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The names of lawyers Vinay Saraf, Vivek Jain, Ashish Shroti and Amit Seth have been recommended for Madhya Pradesh High Court.
