Tension after attack on Gaza hospital, summit of Arab leaders with Joe Biden canceled
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has reached a different point. Many questions are being raised on Israel due to the killing of about 500 people in the attack on the hospital in Gaza. The attack has derailed US-led diplomatic efforts to garner support for “Israel’s right to defend itself.” The summit meeting between US President Joe Biden and other leaders in Amman, Jordan has been cancelled. Biden is scheduled to reach Israel today on a solidarity visit to express support for Israel. Let us tell you that Hamas and Israel are blaming each other for the deadly explosion in the hospital in Gaza.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said, “Biden’s summit in Amman with Jordan’s King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has been canceled.”
Biden is supporting calls for Israel to dismantle Hamas following the October 7 attacks on Israel that killed more than 1,300 people and are said to have taken between 200 and 250 Israelis as hostages. Was taken to Gaza. Hamas immediately blamed Israeli airstrikes for Tuesday’s explosion at Al Ahli hospital in Gaza City. But Israel strongly denied the allegations and said a rocket from the Islamic group caused the explosion.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh surprisingly blamed America for the attack on the hospital and said that Washington is trying to save Israel on this issue. “The massacre at the hospital shows the extent of the enemy’s cruelty and anger at defeat,” Haniyeh said during a television interview. He has called on all Palestinians and Muslims of Arab countries to protest against Israel.
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey also accused Israel of bombing the Al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza City. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed “barbaric terrorists in Gaza” for the deaths. “So the whole world knows. The barbaric terrorists in Gaza are the ones who attacked the Gaza hospital, not the IDF (Israel Defense Forces),” Netanyahu said in a statement. He stressed, “Those who brutally killed our children, also kill their own children.”
