Uttar Pradesh: Found guilty in fake birth certificate case, Azam Khan, Abdullah Azam and Tanzeem Fatima sentenced to 7 years imprisonment each
Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has received a big blow from the court. MP-MLL Court of Rampur has convicted Azam Khan, his wife Tanzin Fatima and his son Abdullah Azam and sentenced them to 7 years each in the fake birth certificate case. All three will be taken directly to jail from here.
Let us tell you that this case of fake birth certificate is related to the 2017 UP Assembly elections. Then Abdullah Azam had contested the elections from Swar assembly seat of Rampur on SP ticket. He also won this election. But after the election results, a case was filed against him in the High Court. He was accused that the age mentioned by Abdullah Azam in the election form was actually not that much.
Swar seat election was canceled
The allegation was that Abdullah does not meet the age criteria to contest the MLA elections. Abdullah’s date of birth in the educational certificate is 1 January 1993, whereas on the basis of the birth certificate, his birth is stated as 30 September 1990. After this case reached the High Court, hearing on it started and the birth certificate presented by Abdullah was found to be fake. After this his election from Swar seat was cancelled.
Two birth certificates, both with different places of birth
Let us tell you that Abdullah is accused of obtaining a passport on the basis of the first birth certificate and undertaking foreign tours and also using the second certificate for government purposes. Apart from this, he is also accused of using it for Jauhar University. Actually, according to the allegation, Abdullah Azam has two different birth certificates. One has been issued by Rampur Municipality on 28 June 2012, in which Rampur is shown as the birthplace of Abdullah. The second birth certificate has been issued in January 2015, in which Lucknow has been shown as his birthplace.
There was a shock in this case just two days ago
Two days ago, on October 16, the Azam family had suffered a big shock in this matter. A revision was filed in the District Judge’s court seeking more time for the defense to argue in the case, which was sent to the MP-MLA special court ADJ First Court of Rampur for hearing. The court had rejected this revision.
