Bishan Singh Bedi played 67 Test matches for India between 1967 and 1979, in which he took 266 wickets. During that time, he also played 10 matches in the newly started ODI format, in which he also took 7 wickets. Let us tell you, he was a part of the golden quartet of Indian spinners which included Erapalli Prasanna, Bhagwat Chandrashekhar and Srinivas Venkataraghavan. He played an important role in India’s first ODI win. He was a key part of India’s bowling unit for more than a decade.
After this, he traveled as a manager with Team India on the tour of New Zealand and England in 1990. Apart from being a national selector, he was also the mentor of many talented spinners like Maninder Singh and Murali Karthik. Took 1,560 wickets in 370 matches in domestic cricket.
