Wishing everyone a happy Vijayadashami, the Chief Minister said that the festival of Dussehra symbolizes the victory of good over evil and religion over unrighteousness. He said that for years we have been burning Ravana. Ravana was a symbol of unrighteousness and evil, hence he has to be burnt every year. He said that this occasion also gives us a message to remove evil wherever we see it in the society. Only by becoming a good person can we become participants in building a good society and country. The Chief Minister said that this festival of Vijayadashami is a lesson for our society and a reflection of social values. This festival carries forward the tradition of showcasing our collective strength, increasing sensitivity towards our social responsibilities, and making efforts towards eradicating social evils.
The Chief Minister said that our festivals, besides being linked to our rich cultural traditions, are also linked to agriculture, rivers, mountains and our history.
