India has so far won a total of 37 medals in the Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China, which include 10 gold, 12 silver, 15 bronze medals. Making his medal debut today, Sumit Antil set a record by throwing the javelin at a distance of 73.29 meters in the men’s F-64 javelin competition. He won the gold medal. Pushpendra Singh won the bronze medal of this competition. In the women’s Class-4 table tennis competition, Bhavina Patel won the bronze medal after losing to China’s Gu Xiaodan.
Earlier, Prachi won gold medals in both the KL-2 Games and Women’s T20 400m race yesterday. Neeraj Yadav also won gold medal in men’s F-54/55/56 discus throw.
Indian contingents will look to win more medals in athletics, cycling, badminton, chess and archery competitions today.
India has sent a contingent of 303 players to participate in 17 events at the Asian Para Games. India had won a total of 72 medals on the basis of its best performance in the Asian Para Games 2018 held in Indonesia, which included 15 gold, 24 silver and 33 bronze medals.
