The Election Commission has said it would appoint actor Rajkummar Rao as its national icon, ahead of assembly elections in five states.
A formal ceremony in this regard will be held on Thursday, the poll body said.
More than 161 million people in five states across India will vote in assembly elections next month, the Election Commission of India announced earlier this month.
