Eight Indians sentenced to death in Qatar, this allegation
A court in Qatar has sentenced 8 Indians to death. All the Indians worked in Al Dahara Company. Al Dahara is a private company that provides training to Qatar’s armed forces.
Actually, all eight Indians are accused of spying for Israel. Among those punished is a senior officer, who has also served in India. Indians who were sentenced to death had filed bail petitions several times, but the petitions were rejected by the court several times.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that, we are in touch with the family members and the legal team and are exploring all legal options. We consider this matter very important and are keeping a close eye on it. Will continue to provide all consular and legal assistance. Will also raise the decision with Qatari authorities.
The statement further said that due to the confidential nature of the proceedings in the case, it would not be appropriate to make any further comments at this time. Eight people were arrested last year after Qatar authorities accused them of spying for Israel.
These people also include respected officers who commanded major Indian warships while in the Indian Navy. They were working for Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services, a private company that provides training and related services to Qatar’s armed forces.
His bail petitions were rejected several times and Qatari authorities extended his detention. On Thursday, Qatar’s primary court issued a ruling.
