Lionel Messi: Messi joins the race for MLS Newcomer Award, scores 11 goals for Inter Miami

Inter Miami club’s superstar forward Lionel Messi has joined the race for the Best Debut Player of the Year award in Major League Soccer (MLS). The league announced the nomination contenders for the award. It is expected that Argentina’s World Cup captain Messi will get this title.

Messi, who joined the Miami club this July, has so far scored 11 goals in which he has assisted eight times. Atlanta United’s Giorgos Giacoumakis and St. Louis City’s Eduard Loewen have also been nominated for the newcomer award. At the same time, the winners for the best coach of the year include St. Louis City’s Bradley Carnell, Cincinnati’s Pat Noonan and Columbus’ Wilfred Nancy.
