Uttar Pradesh / Banda: When there was a delay in getting tea, the old man lost his temper, sprinkled petrol on himself and set himself on fire.

A case of suicide by an elderly person over a small matter has come to light in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, a 65-year-old man, a resident of Adaura village of Kamasin police station area of the district, sprinkled petrol on himself and set himself on fire because his family had delayed in bringing tea for him. The elderly man, who was badly burnt by the fire, was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, but he died during treatment. Police have sent the body of the elderly for postmortem and the matter is being investigated.

According to the information received so far, Awadh Kishore, resident of Adaura village of Kamasin police station area, had a fight with his daughter and daughter-in-law due to delay in bringing tea. It is being told that the old man’s wife lives in her maternal home, while his married daughter lives with him. On Thursday, Awadh Kishore had asked for tea from his daughter and daughter-in-law. When there was a delay in getting the tea, he became upset and an argument started between them. Later, when the family members went to see the fair, the old man sprinkled petrol on himself and set himself on fire.
Elderly people were under stress after argument
It is being told that after seeing the condition of Awadh Kishore, the neighbors informed the family members, after which he was taken to the hospital. Based on the statement of the family members, the police said that the elderly man took suicidal steps under stress after an altercation. According to the police, further action is being taken by sending the body of the elderly for postmortem.
