Uttarakhand: Chief Minister inaugurated the Vigilance Week which will run from 30 October to 05 November 2023, Dhami announced – 103 new posts will be created in the Vigilance Department

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the program “Oppose Corruption, Be Dedicated to the Nation” under the Vigilance Week running from 30 October to 05 November 2023. In the program organized at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister announced that 103 new posts will be created in the Vigilance Department. A team of surveillance and technical experts will be formed to effectively improve the functioning of the Vigilance Department. On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored Inspector Tushar Bohra, Inspector Bhanu Prakash Arya, ASI Diwakar Sharma and Constable Naveen Kumar of Vigilance Department for doing commendable work in their field. The Chief Minister also administered the pledge of integrity to the officers and employees.

The Vigilance Department will submit reports to the Chief Minister twice a month on the action taken for corruption-free Uttarakhand

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that during ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’, awareness campaigns should be conducted through various mediums for corruption-free Uttarakhand. He said that awareness campaigns should be conducted regularly to completely stop corruption. The Chief Minister directed the officers of the Vigilance Department to submit reports twice a month on the action being taken by the department to stop corruption. He said that to root out corruption, all departmental secretaries should do regular monitoring of their departments. He said that whatever funds are required will be provided to the Vigilance Department to expedite the action.

Government’s special focus on good governance and poor welfare

The Chief Minister said that the state government has a special focus on good governance and poor welfare. It should be ensured that every eligible person gets full benefit of the various public welfare schemes run by the government, strict action will be taken against those involved in any kind of negligence and corrupt behavior. He said that it is important for everyone to bring decency in their work behavior as well as the feeling of working in the public interest. He said that number 1064 issued for corruption-free Uttarakhand should also be publicized on a wide scale. Any complaint related to corruption should be responded to promptly and if the complaint is found to be true, prompt action should be taken.

Maximum use of technology is necessary to completely stop corruption

Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu said that maximum use of technology should be made to completely stop corruption. Installing CCTV cameras in all offices will not only curb corruption but will also improve other systems. He said that we have to move fast in the direction of e-records. If we are successful in spreading the message of “oppose corruption, be dedicated to the nation” to every person, then it will prove to be very effective in effectively controlling corruption. The Chief Secretary said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, a lot of work has been done in the state for corruption-free Uttarakhand. If we are successful in taking 100% action quickly on complaints related to vigilance, this will further increase public confidence in the government. He said that work should be done to further strengthen vigilance.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi, Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R. Of. Sudhanshu, L Fanai, DGP Ashok Kumar, ADG P.V.K Prasad, Director Vigilance V. Murugesan, ADG Amit Sinha, A. P Anshuman and senior officials of the government and vigilance officers were present.
