Uttarakhand: Congress never conducted civic elections on time, now raising questions on the process: Mahendra Bhatt

BJP hit back at the allegations of delay in civic elections and said that those who, while in power, sometimes did not conduct civic elections on time, are now doing politics on the compulsion of the process. He also took a jibe at Congress that before leaving Mandalam’s pride regarding the organization, they should strengthen the state team.

Answering the questions of journalists at the party headquarters, State President Mahendra Bhatt said, today there are 103 municipal bodies in the state as compared to 60 earlier. Therefore, due to expansion of boundaries of civic areas, it takes time to demarcate rural areas on a large scale. Besides, it is necessary to complete the process of preparation of reservation status and voter list. He targeted the Congress for always delaying the civic elections by 6 months despite favorable conditions in its governments. And now despite knowing the compulsion of the process, it is doing politics on this issue.

Answering the question asked by the media about Congress forming a division on the lines of BJP, Bhatt said, to create an organization like ours, they need long ideological commitment and penance. The only correct thing about Mandal is that he used Sanskrit. Giving advice, he said, before forming Mandalam, they need to focus on strengthening their state organization.

Responding to Congress’s allegations regarding Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Shastri, he said, I don’t know if they have any problem with the arrival of him and the saints of Sanatan culture, whereas their leaders reach their court the most. BJP welcomes all religious social personalities in Devbhoomi.
