Uttar Pradesh: The bridge which was opened during the day, cracked at night; was made at a cost of 63 crores

The efforts of the Yogi government to give a divine and grand form to the ‘Maha Kumbh’ to be held in Prayagraj in 2025 are falling prey to the negligence of the officials. A shocking case of negligence of government officials has come to light in Kumbh city Prayagraj. Within 10 hours, there was a problem in the bridge built on the border connecting UP and MP in the district, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with his own hands on Monday.

At present, due to the disturbance, traffic on the bridge has been stopped. According to eyewitnesses, a lot of space has developed in the jointer between its approach road and the bridge, due to which vehicular traffic has had to be stopped. Let us tell you that the 670 meter long bridge built on Tamsa river to connect Bara, Meja and Koraon tehsils of Prayagraj with Madhya Pradesh border area has cost Rs 63 crore. Built for the convenience of more than 100 nearby villages, this bridge was built after the earlier Gaughat bridge became dilapidated.

Was ready a month ago

For this, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya had prepared a detailed project report from the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation. The budget was approved by the government and it was ready just a month ago. At present, after the crack in the bridge, the District Magistrate of Prayagraj has taken cognizance of the matter.

Investigation will be done by MNNIT experts

DM Navneet Singh Chahal says that first instructions have been given to repair the bridge. After this, technical investigation will be done by the experts of MNNIT as to how the flaws came in the construction. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already directed to investigate all the works related to Mahakumbh by a third party. In such a situation, this construction will also be investigated by a third party. After this, the raw story of the negligence of the officers will come to light.
