Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tejas’ got praised, Priyanka Chopra reacted, said- ‘I think everyone is behind…’
Priyanka Chopra is in India these days. Priyanka has come to India to participate in the JIO MAMI Film Festival. Priyanka Chopra, who has become a global star, is also known for her films and openly expressing her opinion on every issue. Recently the actress has given a big statement on women-centric films. Priyanka Chopra’s statement is currently in the limelight because the recently released Kangana Ranaut film ‘Tejas’ has failed at the box office.
‘Tejas’ (Kangana Ranaut Tejas) is a women-centric film in which Bollywood ‘queen’ Kangana Ranaut has played the lead role. Like Kangana’s other films, this film was also heavily promoted and a lot of buzz was created among the audience about the movie, but when this film was released in theatres, the audience rejected it completely. With many of Kangana Ranaut’s films flopping back-to-back, questions have started being raised on women-centric films in Bollywood.
According to a report in ETimes, while registering her presence in this film festival, the actress talked openly about her journey and struggles in Bollywood. During this conversation, she also told how the flop of women-centric films has a bad effect on her. According to media reports, Priyanka Chopra said, “When we do a women-centric film, the pressure on us is very high. You see many women-based films becoming successful, but the pressure increases when a film is not successful.
‘It seems everyone has failed…’
She further says, “When a film based on women does not perform well. I feel everyone’s share of disappointment. It feels as if I have disappointed all the women. I feel like I’ve failed everyone because very few people get the chance to be where I am.”
