Patiala Peg WhatsApp group and Army’s secret information leaked…President dismisses Major caught in ISI honey trap

An Indian Army officer got trapped in the honey trap of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. After a high level investigation in this case, he was found guilty of violating national security norms, after which President Draupadi Murmu dismissed him from service. The dismissed officers were posted at the rank of Major in the Strategic Force Command (SFC).
Sources in the defense and security establishment said on Tuesday that the Army had started investigating the major’s activities in March 2022, after officers found his involvement in several suspicious activities, including storing and sharing sensitive information.
Sources said that the President, the supreme commander of the three armies, had signed the order to terminate the services of the Major about a week ago, exercising powers under the Army Act, 1950. An order regarding this was issued in the middle of September and after the approval of the President, its notification was issued. However, there has been no official comment on the Major’s dismissal.
