Scientist’s warning! An earthquake of magnitude 8 may hit North India, be prepared

An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Nepal on Friday night. The tremors of this earthquake were felt in North India including Delhi-NCR, UP, Bihar, MP. Let us tell you that this is the third earthquake in Nepal in the last one month. Meanwhile, Indian seismologist Ajay Paul warned that North India should be prepared for more aftershocks. He said that the seismic belt is active in the Himalayan region. When the epicenter of the earthquake in Nepal was studied, it was revealed that there is a large area releasing energy in this area.

Scientist Ajay Paul said that the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred on Friday night was around Doti in Nepal. Also in November 2022, an earthquake of 6.3 magnitude occurred here in which 6 people died. Many people were injured there. On October 3 also several earthquakes occurred in this area of Nepal. This area is located right in the middle of Nepal. The frequent earthquakes reveal that many seismic belts are active. Energy is continuously coming out of this area.

That’s why earthquakes are happening continuously

Earlier, many geologists had predicted that a major earthquake could occur in the Himalayas at any time. He told that in this area the Indian tectonic plate is continuously moving towards the north. At the same time, it is also colliding with the Eurasian Plate, due to which pressure is building up in the ground and when the pressure is released in the form of energy, earthquakes occur. Ajay Paul has previously worked at Wadia Institute of Himalayan.

This is how the Himalayas were formed

He told that the collision between the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate started 40 to 50 million years ago. He made a shocking revelation and said that the Indian Plate was moving northwards from the Indian Ocean and due to this collision the Himalayas were formed. The height of the Himalayas is continuously increasing due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates.

Scientist Ajay Paul said that the continuous pressure will be released by a big earthquake. If this happens, an earthquake of more than eight magnitude can occur which will prove to be quite devastating. However, since there is no accurate prediction method, it is difficult to know when such a large earthquake will actually occur.
