Nikita Chand won gold medal in Asian Boxing Championship

Nikita Chand, daughter of a farmer from Uttarakhand, brought glory not only to her motherland but also to the state by winning the gold medal in the Asian Junior Boxing Championship in Kazakhstan. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the far away sports world due to Nikita’s brilliant success.

Nikita Chand, resident of Badal village of Pithoragarh district, has already proved her skills in boxing. This girl has once again brought glory to this state. Suresh Chand’s father Nikita is a farmer and his mother Deepa Chand is a housewife. Born in a farmer family, Nikita Chand’s family is still living in poverty. His father, Suresh Chand, supports his family through farming and goat rearing. When DD Joshi of the village told his father Suresh Chand about Nikita’s great success, he became emotional and a wave of happiness spread in the entire area. With this achievement Nikita showed her daughters that they too can do anything.

In 2015, just nine years old Nikita Chand came to her uncle Vijendra Mall’s house in Pithoragarh with the desire to do something. His uncle enrolled him in the fourth grade. After watching my uncle fight a boxer, I fell in love with boxing and told it to my uncle.

In 2016, his uncle started training Nikita in boxing along with other boxers. After training, Nikita won a bronze medal at the National School in 2019. Later there were interruptions due to Corona virus, but training continued. Nikita won gold medal at the 2021 National Junior Boxing Championship in Sonipat. In 2021 itself, Nikita won gold in the Junior Asian Championship in Dubai and in March 2022, she won gold in the Asian Championship in Jordan. Nikita also won the National Junior Boxing Championship held in Manipur in August 2022.
