India won the Asian Champions Trophy by defeating them 4–0 in the final. Let us tell you that the Indian women’s hockey team had made it to the finals of the tournament by defeating South Korea 2-0.
This final match between Japan and India was played at Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Marang Gomke, Ranchi. After this victory of the women’s hockey team, Hockey India has tweeted and promised to give Rs 3 lakh each as a reward to all the women hockey players. So the support staff will be given Rs 1.5 lakh.

What happened in the match?
In the final match, India’s Sangeeta Kumari scored in the 17th minute, Neha in the 46th minute, Lalremsiami in the 57th minute and Vandana Kataria scored in the 60th minute. India dominated Japan from the beginning. Japan was also trying to score a goal but Indian goalkeeper Savita Punia thwarted Japan’s efforts.
Indian women’s hockey team became champion for the second time
Japan received several penalty shootouts in the first half. But failed to score a goal. Let us tell you that India has won the Asian Champions Trophy before also. Earlier in 2016, the Indian women’s hockey team had won the trophy in Singapore. So Japan was the winner in the year 2013 and 2021.
