Rafah border is the only entrance to Gaza for Egypt
The Rafah border is Gaza’s only gateway to Egypt. Israel has no control over this. It was opened on Wednesday to foreign nationals and their dependents, as well as injured Gazans. Later it was closed for two days.
What did Egyptian officials say?
Egyptian officials said humanitarian operations were halted on Saturday following an Israeli attack on an ambulance in Gaza last week. The movement of trucks carrying relief material entering through this border has also reduced. Sources said Egypt was seeking guarantees on the safety of ambulances used for evacuations.
