Uttarakhand: Opposition’s silence on Nitish’s indecent remarks on women is shameful – Mahendra Bhatt

BJP has described Nitish Kumar’s comments about women as extremely shameful and the height of insult to motherly power. The state president said, not only was abusive language already included in the behavior of Congress and its allies, now Nitish’s values have also deteriorated due to their bad company. Besides, the silence of the opposition leaders of the state on this issue was also described as shameful.

In an informal conversation with the media, Bhatt expressed anger over the statement of Bihar CM and called it the real character of the Indi alliance. He said, the most sad and insulting thing is that he said all these obscene remarks inside the Assembly and in front of many women MLAs. However, Congress and its allies have a history of character assassination of women. Be it CM Gehlot’s statement on the rape incident in Rajasthan by men, or Digvijay Singh’s comments on the women leaders of his own party, or the allegations of sexual harassment against their National Youth President by the party’s own state unit president. No matter the statements given by SP leaders in favor of rapists.

Bhatt said that it was regrettable and painful that no opposition leader came forward to protest against this public insult to mothers and sisters. We had hoped that some big Congress leader of Uttarakhand, born from the sacrifice of mother power and moving ahead with her strength, would have the courage to criticize. But no statement came forward from any leader who keeps his politics alive through media on the issue of atrocities against women. All the 1.25 crore people, including the mother power of Devbhoomi, are feeling the silence of the opposition leaders of the state and will give a clear answer when the time comes.
