Houthi rebels created havoc in Yemen, complete collapse of internet service created uproar

The situation in the war-torn nation of Yemen is continuously worsening. Houthi rebels are challenging the system every day. The Houthis are creating havoc on the streets. Due to this, normal life in Yemen has become derailed. Internet services in Yemen were completely disrupted without any explanation at midnight on Thursday. This has created an outcry among the common people. Due to internet shutdown, other online services including banking have also stopped. Emergency service phone numbers are also not working. Due to this people are facing huge difficulties.

An organization monitoring the website gave this information. It is being told that this internet service was stopped from midnight on Thursday and it affected Yemennet, which is now controlled by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Both Netblock (a group that monitors Internet outages) and Internet service company Cloudflare have reported the Internet shutdown. However, both of them did not give information about the reason for this.

Yemen is in the grip of civil war

Yemen is currently in the deep grip of civil war. Due to this the situation here has become like hell. The peace and security of the people has been disturbed. Let us tell you that Houthi and Yemen Telecom officials have not given any immediate reaction on the shutdown of internet service. The last incident of internet service shutdown took place in January 2022. At the time, the Saudi-led coalition battling the Houthis in Yemen bombed a telecommunications building in the Red City port city of Hodeida. Even at that time no immediate information was given.
