Chaos in Pakistan team as soon as they returned home, Morne Morkel resigned, what will happen to Babar Azam?

As expected, turmoil has started in the Pakistan team. Morne Morkel, the bowling coach of the team that could not make it to the semi-finals of the World Cup 2023, has resigned as soon as he returned from India. He was selected as Pakistan’s bowling coach in June with a 6-month contract. His resignation has been announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Earlier, Chief Selector Inzamam Ul Haq had resigned, now it remains to be seen what happens to Captain Babar Azam.
Pakistan Cricket Board announced Morkel’s resignation
Morkel’s decision to step down comes after Babar Azam and Co. failed to qualify for the knockouts of the 2023 ODI World Cup after winning only 4 out of 9 matches. The PCB has not named Morkel’s replacement and has said in its release that a decision on this will be taken at the appropriate time. Pakistan has to go on Australia tour in December, in which they will play a three-Test series.
Pakistan disintegrated after defeat by India
Pakistan had won two matches in the beginning of their campaign in the World Cup, but the Indian team defeated them in such a way in front of 1.25 lakh fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad that their confidence was shattered. After this, Babar Azam’s team got international humiliation by defeating Afghanistan. The whole world was shocked, whereas after that, heavy criticism of Babar Azam and his players started in Pakistan.
Babar army could not save respect even in the last match
Pakistan could not save its honor even in its last league match against England and lost by a huge margin of 93 runs. In this entire tournament, Pakistan’s strongest link emerged as its biggest weakness. Pakistan failed miserably in spin as its fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf were thrashed by the batsmen of almost every big and small team.
