Uttarakhand: Contact was made with the laborers trapped in Uttarkashi Tunnel, this is how they gave a hint to the rescue team.

Rescue work is going on continuously after the accident inside the tunnel on the National Highway in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. In the accident that happened yesterday, about 35 to 40 laborers are trapped inside due to the collapse of a part of the tunnel under construction between Silkyara-Dandalgaon. Since there was no contact with the workers the previous day, it seemed that some untoward incident had taken place. However, now the workers trapped in the tunnel have been contacted.

Rapid rescue operation continues

About 174 laborers were working in the tunnel at night. When the accident occurred, night shift workers were coming out and morning shift workers were going inside. Then this accident happened about 270 meters from the face of the tunnel. Since the incident, continuous rescue efforts are being made but till now no major success has been achieved. Along with NDRF, SDRF, ITBP personnel are also engaged in rescue. Along with this, the local administration is also present on the spot and is helping in the rescue.

Workers safe

PRD jawan Ranveer Singh, who was engaged in the rescue operation after the accident in the tunnel of Uttarkashi, has said that the work is going on fast and everyone is working very hard. We were sad yesterday because we were not able to talk to the stranded people. But then we have been able to talk to them. One person said that the people trapped inside have indicated that they are safe by running the water pump.

PM Modi took information

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also spoken to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to get information about the situation of this accident in Uttarkashi. PM Modi has taken complete information regarding the rescue operation from the state CM Dhami and has assured the Uttarakhand government of all possible help from the central government.
