Why are you avoiding responsibility? Journalist’s sharp question on Hamas attack, then what did Netanyahu say?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to respond to the question of whether Hamas was able to stop the deadliest attack ever carried out on October 7. He said that right now his focus is to eradicate Hamas. There will be time for such difficult questions after the Hamas war ends. Speaking to CNN, Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that ‘it is a question that needs to be asked, but right now the country needs to be united for the goal of defeating Hamas.’
Prime Minister Netanyahu said, ‘We are going to answer all these questions. I think what we need to do right now is to keep the country united to achieve victory over Hamas.’ Israel was established in the year 1948. After the formation of the country, on October 7 last month, Hamas carried out the deadliest attack on Israel so far. After being criticized for failing to stop the attack, Netanyahu said, “Let’s focus on victory – that is my responsibility now.”
Cease fire only on one condition!
The Prime Minister said that Israel is making every possible effort 24 hours to release the hostages. Ending Hamas and freeing the hostages are our two war goals. He reiterated his stance regarding the international call for a ceasefire. ‘The only stoppage in the fight that we will accept is the release of the hostages.’
12 thousand deaths so far in Gaza
Hamas had fired more than four thousand rockets at Israel on October 7 last year. Israel’s Iron Dome defense system also failed during this horrific attack. A total of 1,400 people died in the attack, while about 240 Israelis were taken hostage by Hamas terrorists. After this, retaliatory action was taken by Israel. So far, about 12 thousand people have died in Gaza Strip due to Israeli air strikes.
