Uttarakhand: Place for drilling selected above Uttarkashi tunnel, drilling will be done to a depth of 89 meters
Eight days have passed since the workers were trapped in the tunnel in Uttarkashi. But till now no success has been achieved. To rescue the workers, six plans have been made and work is being done on them. Now the place has been selected for digging above the tunnel.

The place for drilling above the Silkyara Tunnel has been selected. A 1.2 meter diameter drill will be done above the tunnel. According to the information received, its setup is expected to happen in the next 24 hours. After which the drill can be completed in two to three days.

On Monday, Professor Arnold Dix, President of the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association, arrived for inspection. He inspected the drill from above the tunnel.
After which he said that work is going on at a very fast pace here. He has said that the condition inside the tunnel is fine. Let us tell you that the team has chosen a place for the drill at a distance of 320 meters above the tunnel. From here, drilling will be done to a depth of 89 meters.
Will not allow any worker to get hurt: Expert
Professor Arnold Dix, President of the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association, said that a team of foreign experts is also present in Silkyara for the rescue operation. Foreign experts say that we know what is happening inside and will not let any worker get hurt.
International tunneling expert Arnold Dix, who reached the spot for rescue, said, “We know about what is happening inside the tunnel. We are saving those 41 people and we are not going to let anyone get hurt while doing so.
