What will Maldives gain by removing the Indian Army? China made a big move

After assuming power in Maldives, President Mohammed Muizzu on Saturday requested the Indian government to recall the Indian soldiers deployed in his country. Muizzu said that the people of Maldives have given him a strong mandate to make this request to the Indian government. Muizzu made this request to India during his meeting with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.

Meanwhile, a news published on the website of South China Morning Post, a Hong Kong newspaper, has attracted everyone’s attention. In which it is claimed that Maldives is expected to see an increase in investment with its new China-friendly President as Beijing wants to take advantage of the opportunity. After this, the question is now arising that what will Maldives take from China after the withdrawal of Indian army and what big deal can be made between the two?

Actually, Muizzu is considered a pro-Chinese leader. The Maldives is expecting more investment from China in tourism facilities and energy infrastructure after hosting a Chinese special envoy this week. A Maldivian diplomat has said that the country has welcomed a president friendly to Beijing.

Investment in renewable energy will be the main objective

Hong Kong-based Vice-Consul Vijay Harilala, in a post on social media, had said that renewable energy will be on top of Maldives’ investment agenda as the region is also a hotspot for tourism. Immediately after taking oath on Friday, Muizzu stressed that he was committed to ensuring this.

Maldives can invite Chinese investment in these areas

According to the report, Maldives can provide investment opportunities in hotels, resorts, eco-tourism, travel agencies in its country. For this, the doors of investment in agriculture and real estate can be kept open. On the other hand, it is also a better time for China to invest in Maldives. In such a situation, China cannot hold back from investing in Maldives.
