Uttarakhand: Dhami became strict on broken roads, if the complexion of broken roads in the state does not change till November 30, the officers will be suspended

Preparations are going on in full swing for the proposed Global Investors Summit in the coming month of December. So far, MoUs worth about Rs 1 lakh 30 thousand crore have been signed for the Global Investors Summit. Major roads of the state are being improved in connection with the summit. However, the road work has not been completed yet.
CM Dhami took PWD meeting: Seeing the incomplete work on the roads, CM Dhami held a meeting with PWD officials on Tuesday. During the meeting, CM Dhami gave an ultimatum to the officials till November 30 and said that if the roads are not pothole free by this time limit, then strict action will be taken against the officials.
Deadline of 30th November to make roads pothole free
Not only this, during the meeting, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the PWD Secretary and other circle officers to conduct on-site inspection. Apart from this, it was warned that if the roads are not made pothole free within the stipulated time and there is any negligence towards the works, action will be taken by suspension of the concerned officers. CM said that he can do surprise inspection of road construction works and patch work related works at any time. Therefore, smart city works and internal road works should be done on war footing.
Made Secretary PWD
Apart from this, the construction work of roads in the city should be done at a faster pace during night time. CM said that any kind of negligence in the quality of construction works will not be tolerated. In such a situation, the quality of the roads being constructed should be better. For this, instructions have been given to make Secretary PWD the nodal officer. Apart from this, it should also be kept in mind that where construction work is being done, proper attention should be paid to installing barricades. So that the commuters do not have to face problems during transportation.
Work by planning for 50 years
CM directed that good arrangements of dividers, reflectors, signage lighting should be made on the roads. CM also said that two big events like Global Investors Summit and 6th International Congress on Disaster Management are to be held in Dehradun. In such a situation, keeping these events in mind, all preparations should be completed on time. White topping technique should be used in areas where water flow is high. Whatever plans are being made related to roads, they should be made keeping in mind the circumstances of the next 50 years.
CM appeared strict on encroachment: CM directed the officials to ensure that electric wires should not be dangling on the roads. During widening of roads, electric poles should also be shifted out of the roads. Also, special attention should be paid to ensure that there is no encroachment on the roads. CM said that Uttarakhand is an important state from the point of view of tourism and pilgrimage. The number of tourists and devotees in the state is increasing rapidly every year. For this there is a need to strengthen road connectivity. Also, we will have to move forward rapidly to expand roads and promote power generation.
