Manipur: 21-year-old youth killed in firing between two organizations in Kangpokpi district
The fire of violence in Manipur is not being extinguished. A 21-year-old man has died in the latest firing. Actually, firing started between some unknown people and villagers in Kangpokpi district on Saturday, in which a 21-year-old youth has died. This has been confirmed by the police. An official said that there was continuous firing for several hours in the Kuki tribal dominated Jaupi village, in which a 21-year-old youth named Khupminthang Haokip died on the spot.
Announcement of closure with immediate effect
There is tension in the area after the murder. The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF), a major tribal organization in Manipur, has announced a bandh in Churachandpur district. ITLF leaders said the militants attacked Jauppi village in Kangpokpi district with high-technology weapons, killing a village youth who was guarding a bunker built by the villagers.
