Uttarakhand: Farmers got a lot of benefits from the schemes, BJP will cash in on milk union elections – Chuphal

BJP has claimed to win the elections of milk unions on the basis of benefits received by milk farmers from government schemes.

At the party headquarters, former state president and election observer appointed for milk unions, Bishan Singh Chunphal, has taken an important meeting in view of the preparations. On this occasion, Chunphal said that our farmers have got huge benefits from the milk incentive scheme of the Central and State Government. He said, livestock has been an important means of employment in the hills and even today milk business is the link of livelihood for the economically weaker sections. Our government is giving 70 percent subsidy to women dairy farmers and 50 percent subsidy to the general category. The government’s 75 percent discount on pet fodder and Rs 50,000 assistance for purchasing animals is bringing a big change in the lives of farmers. Similar schemes by the Central and State Government for small farmers and cattle rearers are going to prove to be helpful in increasing the party representation by the Milk Union.

Giving information about the election process of Milk Union, Chunphal said that the elections of primary committee members and their president have been completed. Out of the total 11 milk unions, elections for the president of 9 unions are to be held in preparation for which this meeting was called today. In which the supervisors discussed the strategy with the presidents of the respective organizational districts. Regarding the further action plan, he said that soon we will go to the districts and sit with senior officials of the organization and consider the names of the candidates and a panel of 3 names will be handed over to the state leadership. Apart from Chunphal, other observers Umesh Tripathi, Ram Mehrotra and presidents of the respective districts attended the meeting.
