Uttarakhand: In Uttarkashi Tunnel case, NDMA said, ‘There is a need to have some patience, it would be wrong to put pressure on the rescue team’

41 laborers are trapped inside the tunnel in Silkyara, Uttarkashi for the last 13 days. Today is the 14th day of the rescue operation. The struggle is going on to get the workers out of the tunnel. The same NDMA member said that we need to have some patience. Because it would be wrong to put pressure on the rescue team.

Rescue operation is becoming complicated: NDMA
NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) member Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd) said, ‘I think everyone’s focus is on when this operation will end. But you need to see that this operation is becoming more and more complex.

There is a war like situation in Silkyara
Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain said, ‘We have never given you a time line. I have experienced that when you do something with mountains you cannot predict anything. This is absolutely a war-like situation.’ He said, ‘The good news is that the 41 laborers trapped inside are fine. Everything is going to them’

There is damage to the auger machine
Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain further said, ‘The families of the workers have also come there. The workers have also talked to their families. As far as rescue operations are concerned, there are some problems we are facing. The auger machine has been damaged and some part of it has not come out.

It would be wrong to put pressure on the rescue team
‘Advanced machinery is required to bring out that part of the machine, which is being airlifted by the Indian Air Force. It will soon reach the tunnel site. We will have to have some patience. There should not be any kind of pressure on the workers. Remember that wherever work is being done, it is dangerous.
