Fraud in PM Kisan Yojana in this state, notice sent to more than 11 thousand people
Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually. This amount is given to the farmers in 3 installments of Rs 2,000 each at an interval of every 4 months. In recent times, many types of frauds have also come to light in PM Kisan Yojana. A similar case has also come to light from Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
More than 11 thousand people took benefits of PM Kisan Yojana wrongly
A big fraud has come to light in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Muzaffarpur. This fraud amounts to approximately Rs 18 crore. 11 thousand 600 ineligible people wrongly took advantage of this scheme. Now the administration has started action against these people. Money is also being taken back from them.
Till now only Rs 22 lakh has been returned
Notice has also been sent to ineligible farmers to return the amount. After the notice only Rs 22 lakh has been returned. According to the Agriculture Department, the bank accounts of those who do not return the amount can be held. Apart from this, a legal case can be registered against them.
How the matter was revealed
This matter came to light when the income tax payer farmer started being identified through the Aadhaar card link by the PMO after the payment was made after online application. After this, a notice has been issued against the ineligible people to return the amount. Now regarding this, District Agriculture Officer Rajan Balan said that the farmers who have filed income tax returns or whose income is more than ten thousand per month, have been identified by the Central Government. In the list received so far from the district, 11 thousand 600 such farmers have been found.
