Gujarat Education Minister Kuber Dindor has said that a total of 1052 people have died due to heart attacks in the state in the last six months. These include a large number of students and youth. Dindor said this during a press conference in Gandhinagar on Friday.

Most of the youth died

The minister said that about 80 percent of these deceased were in the age group of 11 to 25 years and had no signs of obesity. He further said that emergency service ambulances (108) are receiving more than 173 cardiac emergency calls every day. The largest number of youth are among these victims.

He said that after the Covid-19 pandemic, cases of death due to heart attack among young people have increased in the state. In view of this, about two lakh school teachers and college professors will be given training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

People are being made aware

Under the initiative of the State Education Department, camps will be organized in 37 medical colleges of the state from December 3 to 17 to provide training in CPR. Around 2,500 medical experts and doctors will be present in these training camps and certificates will also be given to the participants.

Policemen have already been given CPR training. After giving this training to the teachers, NSS and NCC cadets will also be given this training so that the lives of the youth can be saved by giving them CPR during the golden period of heart attack.

Health Minister said- I do not have any such data

On the other hand, Health Minister and state government spokesperson Hrishikesh Patel has said that I do not have any such data of deaths due to heart attack. Cases of death due to heart attack are being studied by ICMR. The state government is also creating public awareness in such matters. Corona vaccine is not responsible for death due to heart attack.
