Jharkhand: Minister’s son becomes peon in district court, nephew in waiting list, opposition raises questions

Mukesh Kumar Bhokta, son of Jharkhand’s Labor Planning cum Training and Skill Development Minister Satyanand Bhokta, has been selected for the post of peon. He has been selected as a class IV employee in Chatra Civil Court. The name of minister’s nephew Ramdev Kumar Bhokta has been kept in the waiting list. Chatra Behavioral Court on Friday released the result of Class IV employee appointment, in which a total of 19 candidates have been selected for various posts.

Minister Satyanand Bhokta is MLA from RJD quota from Chatra assembly seat. On this, BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdev said that no matter the job or work, it is not big or small. But employment opportunities are less in the state. There are more than 7.5 lakh registered unemployed in Jharkhand. Despite having vacancies, the state government is recruiting for fewer posts. JMM MLA Lobin Hembram had put his own government in the dock a few weeks ago regarding unemployment.

3.5 lakh posts vacant in government departments in Jharkhand

He said that in the party’s manifesto there was a promise of providing 5 lakh jobs every year. There are about 3.5 lakh posts vacant at different levels in Jharkhand. In such a situation, even the talented are not able to get jobs as per their capacity. In Jharkhand, 73938 posts are vacant in Home Department and 1.04 lakh posts are vacant in School Education Department. There are 35322 vacancies in Health Department, 3500 in Agriculture Department, 4036 in Law Department, 3464 posts in Drinking Water and Sanitation Department.

Number of registered unemployed in Jharkhand is 7.32 lakh

Lobin Hembram further said that 1729 posts are vacant in Road Construction Department, 7341 in Rural Development Department, 5119 in Water Resources Department, 6696 posts in Panchayati Raj Department. The number of registered unemployed in the state till 2016 was 5.50 lakh. According to the Labor Department data of 2019, this number has now reached 7.32 lakh. The years 2020 and 21 passed in the Corona epidemic. Even though the government is celebrating the appointment year, the vacancy has not come. About 3.5 lakh posts are vacant in different departments.
