National Panchayati Raj Organization has written a letter to the government as well as the State Tribal Commission in this regard. Five tribes, Bhotia, Tharu, Buxa, Jaunsari and Raji, live in the border areas of Uttarakhand. One of these tribes is from Bhotiya community. People say that many people use this word to insult them.
People insult by calling him a Bhotiya dog
He says that the Bhotia tribe lives on the Nepal-Tibet border of India. In the past, there was trade between India and Tibet on the border. People of Bhotiya tribe were mainly involved in this. People of Bhotiya tribe reared thousands of sheep and goats. Which was their means of living.
To protect these sheep and goats from tigers, bears and other wild animals, he kept a big dog. Who lived with sheep and goats day and night in the high Himalayan regions and protected them. But later people also started calling this dog as Bhotiya dog.
Satpal Maharaj gave his support
Regarding the matter, Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj says that if this word hurts anyone’s sentiments, then this word should be banned with immediate effect. This special species of dog is also called Himalayan Ship Dog. It should be called by this name. What can happen legally? It will be shown.
