Crack in INDIA alliance? In the meeting called by Kharge, after Mamta-Akhilesh, Nitish also refused!
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has called a meeting of ‘INDIA’ alliance in Delhi on 6 December. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will not attend this meeting. Earlier, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and SP President Akhilesh Yadav had refused to attend the meeting. However, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has reached Delhi today. He will participate in the meeting of INDIA alliance.
Congress has suffered a major setback in the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. After the election results, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has called a meeting of the opposition alliance on 6 December. It is being told that Nitish Kumar will not attend this meeting. However, in their place, Lallan Singh and Sanjay Jha will attend the meeting from JDU.
Earlier, Mamata Banerjee had already refused to attend this meeting. At the same time, there is doubt over Akhilesh also attending this meeting.
Mamta said- no information about the meeting
Mamata Banerjee refused to attend this meeting and said that she has no information about the meeting of ‘INDIA’ alliance. No one told me about this meeting nor was I informed by call in this regard. I have a program of 6 to 7 days in North Bengal. I have made other plans also. If now they call me for a meeting, how can I change my plans. At the same time, it is believed that Akhilesh Yadav will also not attend this meeting. However, Ram Gopal Yadav from SP will join in his place.
Is Congress’s stature decreasing in the alliance?
After the defeat in these states, the opposition parties are not only targeting the Congress but are also pointing out the consequences of not forming an alliance with the opposition parties in these states. In fact, despite being a part of INDIA alliance, SP had contested separate elections in Madhya Pradesh. The party had fielded candidates on about 70 seats. But an enthusiastic Kamal Nath had refused to form an alliance with SP.
Akhilesh had expressed his displeasure regarding this and had said that he would consider whether to remain together in the Lok Sabha elections or not. Akhilesh’s party has caused losses to Congress on many seats in MP. Niwari is one such seat, where if the elections in MP had been fought under the alliance of India Alliance, the results could have changed.
JDU raised demand to make Nitish the face of alliance
On the other hand, after the defeat of Congress in three states, JDU has raised the demand of making Nitish Kumar the face of INDIA alliance. JDU leader Nikhil Mandal said, I.N.D.I.A alliance should now follow Nitish Kumar ji. Congress was not able to pay attention to the India alliance because it was busy in elections in 5 states. Now Congress has also contested the elections, the results are also out. Remember, Nitish Kumar is the architect of India alliance and only he can sail this boat across.
