Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the two-day Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit-2023 being organized in Dehradun. The Prime Minister will also address the gathering present on this occasion. PMO said, this summit with the theme “Peace to Prosperity” is a step towards establishing Uttarakhand as new investment destinations. Apart from the Prime Minister, thousands of investors and representatives from all over the world are participating in the summit.
The two-day Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit is being attended by Union Ministers and ambassadors of various countries as well as leading industrialists. Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the preparations for the summit on Wednesday. Dehradun is being decorated for more than a fortnight before the event. Main roads have been renovated and damaged dividers and footpaths have been repaired.
CM Dhami had instructed the officials to complete all the arrangements for the event on time. He said that this is a big event for the state. Ahead of the summit, Dhami held several road shows in major cities across the country and in London and Birmingham in the UK to attract investors to the state. He said investment memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth more than Rs 2.5 lakh crore have been signed with various companies for investment in the state. Dhami said that efforts are now being made to implement these MoUs which have the potential to generate employment opportunities for the local people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the ‘Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023’ organized at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Modi also visited the exhibition and unveiled the ground breaking wall. Prime Minister Modi also launched the book Empowered Uttarakhand and the brand House of Himalayas. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister expressed happiness over Devbhoomi being in Uttarakhand and recalled his statement about the third decade of the century being the decade of Uttarakhand. Modi said that it is a matter of satisfaction that this statement is coming true on the ground. The Prime Minister praised the State Government and all those involved in the successful rescue mission of workers from the tunnel at Silkyara.
Reiterating his close relationship with Uttarakhand, the Prime Minister said that Uttarakhand is a state where divinity and development are felt together. The Prime Minister recited one of his poems to further elaborate this sentiment.
Referring to the investors present at the occasion as industry veterans, the Prime Minister drew an analogy of SWOT analysis done by multinational companies and stressed upon the nation to undertake this exercise. He highlighted that the results of the SWOT analysis will indicate abundance of aspirations, hope, confidence, innovation and opportunities in the country. He also noted indicators of policy-driven governance and citizens’ resolve for political stability. Highlighting the recently concluded assembly elections, the Prime Minister said, “Aspirational India wants a stable government rather than instability” and underlined that people voted on the basis of good governance and its track record. Prime Minister Modi highlighted the country’s ability to grow at a record pace despite the Covid pandemic and unstable geopolitical landscape. The Prime Minister remarked, “Be it the Corona vaccine or economic policies, India was confident in its capabilities and policies.” As a result, India stands ahead compared to other large economies of the world. He said that every state of India including Uttarakhand is taking advantage of this strength.
The Prime Minister reiterated the benefits of a double engine government whose dual efforts are visible everywhere. While the state government is working keeping in mind the local realities, the Government of India is making unprecedented investment in Uttarakhand. Both levels of government are enhancing each other’s efforts. Referring to the work of reaching Chardham from rural areas, the Prime Minister said that the day is not far when the distance between Delhi-Dehradun will be reduced to two and a half hours. The expansion of Dehradun and Pantnagar airports will strengthen air connectivity. Heli-taxi services are being expanded in the state and rail connectivity is being strengthened. All this is creating new opportunities for agriculture, industry, logistics, warehousing, tourism and hospitality.
Refuting the approach of previous governments that provided limited access to places located in border areas, the Prime Minister underlined the double engine government’s efforts to develop them as the country’s first villages. He mentioned the Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Block program where emphasis is being given to those villages and areas which are lagging behind in development standards. Modi highlighted the untapped potential of Uttarakhand and urged investors to make the most of it.
Highlighting the tourism sector of Uttarakhand, which has benefited from the double engine government, the Prime Minister also noted the enthusiasm of people from across the country as well as the world to visit India. He informed about creating a theme based tourism circuit with the aim of introducing the tourists to the nature as well as the heritage of India. The Prime Minister underlined that Uttarakhand is going to emerge as a brand encompassing nature, culture and heritage. He urged investors to give priority to exploring and creating opportunities in Yoga, Ayurveda, pilgrimage and adventure sports sectors. PM Modi appealed to the rich, prosperous people and youth of the country to start ‘Wed in India’ movement on the lines of ‘Make in India’. He requested them to organize at least one marriage ceremony in Uttarakhand in the next five years. Highlighting India’s ability to achieve any resolution, the Prime Minister said, “Even if 5000 marriages take place in a year in Uttarakhand, a new infrastructure will be created and the state will be transformed into a wedding destination for the world.” Will give.”

The Prime Minister cautioned against packaged food in the name of nutrition even though India is very rich in nutritious food like millet. He highlighted the potential of organic food related to AYUSH and the opportunities it provides for farmers and entrepreneurs of the state. Even in packaged food, he asked attendees to help local produce reach global markets.
Concluding the address, the Prime Minister remarked that the present times are an unprecedented time for India, its companies and its investors. “India is going to become the world’s third largest economy in the next few years”, he said, crediting the combination of a stable government, a supportive policy system, a mindset of reform and change and belief in growth. “This is the time, this is the right time. This is India’s time”, the Prime Minister said and appealed to investors to accompany Uttarakhand and participate in its development journey.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister had started organizing the Investors Summit under the name “Vibrant Gujarat” when he was the CM of Gujarat, inspired by that, the State Government organized the Investors Summit on the theme of “Destination Uttarakhand”. Out of these, the work of implementing investment proposals worth Rs 44 thousand crore has been started so far, this will increase the employment opportunities of the local people rapidly in the state. He said that an investor needs good business environment, good law and order, investment friendly policies and better connectivity as well as better health and climate, Uttarakhand has all this. He said that a grand “Convention Center” will soon be constructed in Uttarakhand like the “Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Center” of Gujarat.
The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand welcomes crores of pilgrims and tourists every year. Our state with a population of about 1.25 crores efficiently manages about seven crore people every year, which is a symbol of the high quality law and order system of the state. “Nivesh Mitra” has been appointed in various sectors in the state, who will be the “single point of contact” for entrepreneurs investing more than Rs 5 crore. While on one hand the transport routes have expanded in Uttarakhand, on the other hand Uttarakhand is creating its own identity in the field of connectivity through the development of new airports and construction of ropeways and heliports.
Industry leaders also expressed their views on this occasion. Pranab Adani, director and managing director (agriculture, oil and gas), Adani Group, said that single point approval in recent times has become a competitive area. He thanked the Prime Minister for his continued support to the state of Uttarakhand and said that the people of India have reposed unprecedented confidence and trust in him.
JSW Chairman and Managing Director Sajjan Jindal highlighted the Prime Minister’s relationship with the state of Uttarakhand, which Jindal had experienced during the development projects of Kedarnath and Badrinath.
