Global Investors Summit brought more hope for investment, development on the mountain will gain momentum

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Global Investor Summit held in Uttarakhand, ushering in an era of new opportunities in the hills. During this time he said that the youth of the mountain and the water of the mountain will now be useful to the mountain.
Investment flow from Global Investors Summit
There is a saying often said in the mountains that the water of the mountains and the youth of the mountains are of no use to the mountains. But these words of PM Modi are a clear indication that this summit will help in reducing migration to a great extent. From these words of PM Modi, it seemed as if the PM was aware of the years-old pain of migration in the mountains and was appealing to remove it.
Migration is a big problem in Uttarakhand. Here you will commonly see ruined villages and a few elderly people with weak bodies and bent waists living alone. Now the question arises why migration is taking place. Everyone knows the reasons for this. But not much work is being done for its solutions.
Thousands of villages declared ghost villages
Lack of employment in the mountains and lack of basic facilities are forcing the youth to leave the mountains. Till now, due to migration in Uttarakhand, more than 1,792 villages have turned into ghost villages. Whether Kumaon or Garhwal, according to reports, between 2018 and 2022, 76.94% people from entire Uttarakhand have left their villages and migrated within the state. According to reports, maximum migration has taken place from Chamoli Rudraprayag, Tehri, Uttarkashi and Pauri.
Governments have been claiming for years that they are trying to stop migration, but the truth is that despite this, the process of migration has not stopped till now. One of the reasons for migration is that the mountain products do not get the place they should. We can estimate this from the fact that the minimum supported price of malte which has got GI tag is only Rs 10 per kg. Due to not getting the right price, the farmers of the hills are abandoning their soil along with farming. Till recently, the courtyards of the village which used to be filled with the laughter of children and villagers, are now filled with silence.
The very meaning of mountains is difficult, so how can we expect that life here will be easy, but these difficulties increase further when there is a lack of basic facilities for living in the mountains, among many reasons, even basic facilities. There is a reason due to which people are forced to leave their full houses day after day.
Hill products will get recognition from House of Himalayas
In the Global Summit held on December 8, to promote the products of Uttarakhand, the PM gave a new brand name to the products of Uttarakhand, House of Himalayas. Along with this, he also talked about creating a global market for local products. This step of PM has raised hopes that now the products of Uttarakhand can get a new identity as well as a different place in the global market.
A new sector of employment may be ready in Uttarakhand
Most of the revenue in Uttarakhand comes from tourism sector. During the Global Summit, PM Modi also talked about Wed in India to promote the tourism sector in Uttarakhand and directly said that if you come to Devbhoomi and take the blessings of Gods and Goddesses to organize a destination wedding of your family in the next five years. If this happens, a new sector of employment will be created in Uttarakhand.
It is clear from this that if the people of Uttarakhand get employment here, then the villages becoming vacant every day and the houses turning into ruins can stop to a great extent and the corners of the mountains which have become deserted can once again be inhabited. Can happen. This is being said because many migrant Uttarakhandis say that if they get employment and facilities in the mountains, then they are ready for reverse migration.
It is clear from the Global Summit being held in Uttarakhand that if investors invest in different sectors of Devbhoomi, then there are possibilities of increasing employment here. If the youth of the hills get employment in Devbhoomi itself, then there will be no need for them to leave their homes and villages. While this step will reduce migration on one hand, on the other hand migrants will also be motivated to return home. Investment in Uttarakhand can give a new direction to the development of Uttarakhand so that the people here can move towards prosperity.
