Uttarakhand / Dehradun: SSP gave instructions to the officers to ensure proper traffic arrangements

SSP Dehradun seems to be strict regarding temporary encroachment and unorganized parking. On Monday, the SSP conducted on-site inspection of the city’s busiest routes and intersections. During this, he gave directions to the officials for parking arrangements.
SSP inspected the busiest routes and intersections
On Monday, Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun conducted on-site inspection of the busiest and traffic-stressed routes of Dehradun, Rajpur Road, EC Road, Chakrata Road, Saharanpur Road etc. During the inspection, SSP Dehradun took stock of the traffic system on these routes and gave necessary directions to the officers present regarding the removal of temporary encroachments and carts etc. on the roads as well as the disorganized parking system.
Instructed all police station in-charges
The SSP instructed all the police station in-charges to hold a meeting with the concerned businessmen regarding the haphazard parking arrangements being made outside the shops in their respective areas. A group of 20 to 25 shopkeepers should be formed in each area. By whom, with mutual consent, at his personal expense, a person will be appointed as Traffic Mitra for systematic parking of vehicles outside the shops in his area.
Traffic Mitras will be appointed
The SSP said that in every area, with the consent of the business community, Traffic Mitras will be appointed for well-organized parking outside the shops. Who will be given training and uniform by the traffic police. Who will ensure that the traffic system is not disrupted by parking of vehicles outside the shops, nor are any vehicles parked outside the shops unnecessarily.
