Chief Justice said this on removal of Article 370
On the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that “the decision of the Center taken by the state during the President’s rule cannot be challenged. Article 370 was an interim provision in case of war. Even if we look at its text, it becomes clear that it was a temporary provision.”
Along with this, he said that the Supreme Court considers the President’s power to issue orders to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution and the decision to make Ladakh a separate union territory as valid.
