DGP of Uttarakhand has met NSA Ajit Doval. Although this meeting of DGP Abhinav Kumar with the National Security Advisor is being said to be a courtesy meeting, it has a deeper meaning. It is being told that the newly appointed DGP informed the NSA about the internal security situation of the state. Along with this, he received guidance on important challenges faced by Uttarakhand Police.

China often takes provocative actions on our country’s borders. Therefore, the Indian government also remains sensitive regarding the borders with China.
There are important military institutions in Uttarakhand
Most important military institutions of the country are located in Uttarakhand. Indian Military Academy i.e. IEMA is located in Dehradun. Along with this, the headquarters of the Garhwal Regiment of the Army is in Lansdowne. The Kumaon Regiment of the Army is located in Ranikhet in Almora district of Uttarakhand. There is always a need for vigilance regarding the security of these military institutions.

Along with this, FRI i.e. Forest Research Institute B is located in Dehradun in Uttarakhand. IIT Roorkee is located in Roorkee in Haridwar district. Being institutions of national importance, their security remains the first priority. Along with this, Chardham temples Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath are also located in Uttarakhand. Tehri Dam, Asia’s highest hydro power project, is also located in Uttarakhand.

Ajit Doval is the National Security Advisor of the country.
