What is Shri Krishna birthplace dispute?
The entire dispute related to Shri Krishna’s birthplace is believed to be about the ownership rights of 13.37 acres of land. Shri Krishna’s birthplace has been built on 11 acres of this land. At the same time, 2.37 acres is near Shahi Idgah Mosque. The Hindu side claims that this entire land belongs to Shri Krishna’s birthplace.

The dispute began about 350 years ago. At that time, Aurangzeb was ruling the throne of Delhi. In 1670, Aurangzeb had issued an order to demolish the birthplace of Shri Krishna in Mathura. Just a year before this, the Kashi temple was demolished. The emperor’s orders were implemented and the temple was razed to the ground. After this, Shahi Idgah Mosque was built on the same land.

Italian traveler had mentioned
The demolition of the temple on the orders of Aurangzeb is also confirmed by the writings of Italian traveler Nicholas Manucci. It is said that Manuchi had come to the Mughal court. He has given information about his journey in his book. Referring to the history of the Mughals, he also told that the birthplace of Shri Krishna was destroyed in the month of Ramzan.
