NHM Director Dr. Neha Garg took information about health schemes during two-day visit to Uttarakhand, Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

On 14 December 2023, a review meeting of Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and national programs conducted in the state was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Neha Garg, Director, NHM, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in the National Health Mission Auditorium.

In the meeting, the Director appreciated the efficient implementation of the Health Department by taking detailed information about the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and national programs conducted in the state. He said, under the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a health camp is being organized in the state in which health screening and tests of the common people are being done continuously.

Director Dr. Neha Garg appreciated the improvements made in institutional delivery in the Maternal Health Program run under the National Health Mission and also gave necessary instructions to reduce the maternal mortality rate. In the meeting, under the immunization program, registration is being done in the state through U-WIN portal, which was emphasized by the Director to increase the coverage of vaccination.

Necessary instructions were given in the meeting on increasing the availability of medicines in Ayushman Arogya Mandir (formerly Health and Wellness Centre). He said, it should be ensured to provide medicines to all the people visiting Ayushman Arogya Mandir in the state.

Director Dr. Neha Garg told that the Government of India is giving full support to Uttarakhand to provide health to the common people. For which various programs are being monitored and useful instructions are being given from time to time.

In the meeting, the Director took information about programs like National TB Eradication Programme, National Urban Health Mission, Quality Assurance, Blood Screening, National Vector Borne Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases etc. and gave instructions to the concerned officers to extend the benefits of various programs to the general public.

He said the National Health Mission is an important aspect which is working with the aim of improving public health services. Under this Mission, the Government has taken several steps which are aimed towards providing high quality health services to the Indian citizens by strengthening the reach of health services till the rural level.
